This ferry comes from Finnegan, AB and ran across the Red Deer River south of Hanna. It was built in the 1980s and ran until 2001, making it last ten years longer than it was supposed to. It was then replaced by a steel ferry as ferries are cheaper to build and maintain than bridges. Leonard Dunn saw the ferry and asked the Provincial Highways Department if they would donate it to the Museum, which not only donated the ferry, but paid for the delivery as well. In 2004, it was moved to the Museum.
